Tribute by Siblings
Esther, Emma & Nelson
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
Today, we honor our dearest senior brother. He was our first protector, our wise guide, and our greatest cheerleader. Losing him leaves a deep, painful void in our family. Yet, we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the love he freely gave. Brother Steve, as we called him, was the first born amongst the children of Mr. John Amponsah and the late Madam Sophia Serwaa Biri.
He was always determined to lead an exemplary life considering where we came from, hence adopted the term Mr. Determination. We shared a bond that time could never break. From our childhood days to adulthood, he was always there for us and never relegated his duties or responsibilities as an elder brother. We will never forget his firm leadership that was characterized by sense of humor, life lessons, and the quiet moments of advice. He showed us how to navigate the world with his actions and words and was always willing to help anybody in whatever way he could.
We very much appreciate how God Almighty used our Brother Steve to enhance our lives. He had the capacity to love each of us equally with an open mind, he was reflective and selfless. Even though you were bedridden for some time, we always believed you would recover but God, the Creator who knows best, took you away from us to a better place. Brother Steve, the gift that can never be replaced, it is our prayer that the Lord God Almighty will grant us the grace to run this lonely race without you.
Dear Brother Steve, you left us too soon, but your legacy and wisdom will continue to guide our daily steps, your beloved siblings; Esther, Emma, and Nelson (aka K.K), never thought we would have to say goodbye to you so soon, we pray this day that the Lord Almighty grant your gentle soul a resting place.
Da yie!
