Our hearts are heavy with grief, yet they overflow with gratitude to the Almighty God for the extraordinary life of His faithful servant, Elder Dr. Stephen Bismark Amponsah. Though tears fill our eyes because a beloved father, leader, mentor, and fellow pilgrim has been called home, our sorrow is comforted by the unshakable hope we have in Christ Jesus—that those who die in the Lord do not perish but enter into everlasting rest.

The Church of Pentecost, KCC2 Assembly, joins the hosts of heaven in celebrating a life that was wholly surrendered to God, faithfully invested in His Kingdom, and poured out in selfless service for the benefit of countless souls. Elder Dr. Stephen Bismark Amponsah was more than an officer of the Church; he was a living epistle whose life proclaimed the Gospel long before his lips spoke it. His humility adorned his greatness, his integrity gave weight to his leadership, and his unwavering faith became an inspiration to all who walked with him. For over four decades, he served the Lord with uncommon devotion and unwavering commitment through The Church of Pentecost. His Christian pilgrimage was marked by steadfast obedience, fervent prayer, sacrificial service, and an unquenchable passion for the advancement of God's Kingdom.

He embraced every assignment not as a duty to be performed, but as a sacred privilege entrusted to him by the Master Himself. When he transferred from the Adenta Estate Worship Centre to Kasoa Central Church (KCC.2 Assembly) in 2008, he brought with him a wealth of spiritual wisdom, maturity, and experience that became an immeasurable blessing to the Assembly. As an Elder, he faithfully strengthened the flock through his exemplary lifestyle, wise counsel, and fatherly care. His quiet confidence, gentle spirit, and unwavering conviction earned him the admiration and trust of both leaders and members alike.His appointment as Presiding Elder of KCC2 Assembly from 2009 to 2011 was a divine affirmation of a life already devoted to faithful service. During those memorable years, he led with the heart of a shepherd and the wisdom of a seasoned servant of God. He strengthened the spiritual foundations of the Assembly, promoted unity among the brethren, nurtured emerging leaders, and encouraged every believer to pursue a deeper walk with Christ.

His leadership was never driven by position but by purpose; never by authority alone but by love, compassion, and genuine concern for God's people. In recognition of his exceptional Christian character and years of exemplary service, the Church entrusted him with the high responsibility of Area Deacon of the Kasoa Area from 2018 to 2019. He accepted this sacred responsibility with the same humility that had always defined his life, serving faithfully and tirelessly to advance the vision of The Church of Pentecost. His influence reached beyond the walls of one Assembly, touching ministers, officers, and members throughout the Area with wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering dedication.To many, Elder Dr. Amponsah was a father in the faith.

To others, he was a mentor whose words brought direction, a counsellor whose wisdom restored hope, and a prayer warrior whose intercession strengthened weary hearts. He possessed a rare gift of making everyone feel valued, welcomed, and loved. His life reflected the gentleness of Christ, yet his convictions stood firm upon the eternal truths of God's Word. In every place he served—whether in bustling cities or humble communities—he demonstrated that greatness in God's Kingdom is measured not by prominence but by faithful obedience and sacrificial service.

His commitment to the work of God extended far beyond official responsibilities. He gave generously of his time, knowledge, professional expertise, and personal resources for the advancement of the Church. He rejoiced in the growth of God's people, celebrated the success of others, quietly lifted burdens, and faithfully supported every course that promoted the Kingdom. His hands were always ready to serve, his heart always willing to give, and his life always pointed others to Christ. Today, the earthly voice that encouraged us has fallen silent. The hands that served so faithfully have found their eternal rest. The feet that tirelessly walked the paths of ministry have completed their journey. Yet heaven has gained a faithful servant whose works continue to speak long after his departure.

His legacy lives on in every soul he nurtured, every leader he mentored, every family he strengthened, every Assembly he blessed, and every life transformed through his faithful witness. Dr. Amponsah has fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. His greatest ambition was not earthly recognition but heavenly approval. We are confident that as he entered the glorious presence of his Lord and Saviour, he was welcomed with those precious words:

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord."

To the beloved Amponsah family, we mourn with you, we pray for you, and we thank God with you. Your husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loved one lived a life worthy of honour. Though your loss is profound, his testimony remains a priceless inheritance that will continue to strengthen generations yet unborn.

Farewell, our beloved Elder.
You have laid down your cross and received your crown. You have exchanged labour for everlasting rest, faith for sight, and the struggles of this present world for the eternal joy of your Master's presence. Until the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise, your memory will remain precious among us, your example will continue to challenge us, and your legacy will inspire us to serve the Lord with the same humility, faithfulness, and unwavering devotion.

Sleep on, faithful soldier of Christ. Rest from your labours. Your works indeed follow you, and your reward is with the Lord forever.
